How do you remove the seat recline lever How do you remove the seat recline lever. Its another humid day in az and my interior smells dank again. Im trying to remove the upholstery as a whole unit and dump it in the washing machine. If i cant do that atleast i wont soak up all the foam and make it moldy. Im stuck at removing the seat recline lever on the sides of the seat. I see a little slot but im not sure how to proceed. __________________

Re: How do you remove the seat recline lever This is from my '98 Ranger Service Manual, from Ford. (1) Press the Spring Clip inward
This is assuming you have already removed your seats. It looks like the spring clip is in that little slot you found. The green sig. is hard to read, but I see you have a 2000, so they should be the same. __________________ *Mods & Pseudo Mods* Last edited by Grampybox; 06-27-2015 at 01:29 PM.

Re: How do you remove the seat recline lever I have my seats in my living room at the moment. I pushed the clip forward, do i pull straight out(up in your picture) or does the handle slide forward or back once the pin is depressed. The clip hasnt returned to the original position and its not pulling out easy ---------- Ok i got it out, it was like a window crank retainer clip. I just coulnt see because the fabric/foam was pushing up against the handle so closely. __________________

Re: How do you remove the seat recline lever Should i treat the support foam with some sort of antibacterial spray like lysol or will that just inbed itself and create more trouble? __________________

Re: How do you remove the seat recline lever That I really don't know. You might check the label on your disinfectant, and see if it says what materials it would work on. Also most Major brands (Lysol etc.) usually have 800 numbers for "Questions & Comments" They may be able to help answer this question. __________________ *Mods & Pseudo Mods*

Are you talking about the stem that the handle clips onto? ** My Thought On This ** It may be easier, and probably cheaper in the long run, to replace the seat. Although, you may find a set of F.U.B.A.R. seats in a J.Y. extra cheap, for some necessary parts. Since my seats are F.U.B.A.R. already, I'll have to go with full replacement. lol __________________ *Mods & Pseudo Mods*
